So much to do, so little.....
A newsgroup/discussion list
Time? Courage? Support? Changing careers or jobs can be very stressful, even when we plan on that change. But hey, guess what? We can support and encourage each other! One tool that I use, which is a combination of "What Color Is Your Parachute", by Richard Bolles and "Wishcraft" by Barabar Sher, is an exercise that combines my ideal job, environment, home, health, etc. I call it MY VISION FOR 2004. I do this exercise every Jan 1st or 2nd. I print it up on nice paper and tape it to my wall in the bathroom, kitchen (I live alone), desk at work, etc. I read it regularly to remind me of what I truly desire in my life. That vision has changed subtly over the years, however, it has been my PRIMARY source of inspiration. It is helping me to stay true to myself. As I move forward with my job change I do so with a plan that is more idealistic than dream. I understand more about myself today than I have in many years thanks to this exercise. Try it and let me know how it hel you. go there (offsite link)
